Want to get rid of those unwanted stretch marks permanently (and fast) without the need for expensive creams or laser surgery? Here's 8 natural treatments and home remedies you definitely should consider...

QUESTION:

What are some of the best home remedies for getting rid of stretch marks and sagging skin? After recently giving birth to triplets, I've now found my skin stretched and flabby with unsightly looking stretch marks. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Miranda

ANSWER:

Hi Miranda, & thank you for your question regarding natural remedies for stretch marks and sagging skin.

Firstly, triplets? Wow! You've got your hands full there no doubt.

Now, in regards to reducing and even removing the visible signs of stretch marks, along with firming up the skin, there are a few tried and tested home remedies that give excellent results.

Here's 8 of the best that you might like to consider...

Home Remedy for Stretch Marks #1... Aloe Vera: Aloe vera is definitely one of the best natural remedies for both sagging skin & stretch marks. It contains a powerful substance called malic acid, which helps to improve the elasticity of the skin & reduce the visible signs of stretch marks. Aloe vera is also a natural skin moisturizer.

If you have access to an aloe vera plant, cut off a piece of leaf & apply the gel/juice directly to your stretch marks & sagging skin. Leave on for 30 minutes before washing off with some lukewarm water. Or, find yourself an all-natural aloe vera gel (such as this one) and apply once daily to any stretch marks & sagging skin. It works a treat!

How to Get Rid of Stretch Marks Remedy #2... Frankincense Oil: A favorite of Dr Josh Axe, frankincense oil is sourced from the resin of the Boswellia tree. This oil is extremely potent & highly effective for remedying all sorts of skin problems, particularly acne, wrinkles, eczema, psoriasis, scar reduction, & stretch marks & sagging skin. Just remember, frankincense oil must be used with a carrier oil such as coconut oil or jojoba or shea butter.

Here's a handy recipe you can use...

INGREDIENTS:

2 ounces of unrefined shea butter
10 vertical drops of jasmine oil
10 vertical drops of therapeutic grade frankincense oil

DIRECTIONS:

Gently melt the shea butter in a small pot until it turns to liquid. Add the other oils & stir the mixture to combine. Leave to cool then place in the fridge for 5-10 minutes. Using a hand mixer on high speed, whip the mixture into a white cream. Place the cream in a glass jar. Keep at room temperature & apply once to twice daily on any scars, stretch marks or loose skin.

Natural Treatment for Stretch Marks #3... Egg Whites: Egg whites are a natural astringent & are high in hydrolipids & amino acids, both of which are needed for healing stretch marks & lifting damaged loose skin.

Simply whip two egg whites (not the yolks) with a fork. Wash your skin with some water first then apply a thick layer of the egg white mixture with a brush (makeup brush or something similar). Leave the egg whites on for 10-15 minutes to dry completely then rinse off. Apply some olive oil to the skin to keep it moisturized. For best results, repeat this process each day for at least 6 weeks.

Home Remedy for Stretch Marks #4... Castor Oil: Commonly used as a natural anti-aging & wrinkle remedy, castor oil is also excellent for removing age spots, moles, & pimples, along with remedying stretch marks & sagging skin.

Make sure you only buy therapeutic grade USP cold pressed castor oil & apply some directly to any stretch marks or loose skin. Gently massage the oil in a circular motion for 5 to 10 minutes then wrap the area with a cotton cloth. Using a hot water bottle or heat pad, apply some heat to the affected area for half an hour or more. Be sure to do this every day for at least a month for positive results.

Natural Cure for Stretch Marks #5... Lemon Juice: Lemon juice is naturally acidic, and the citric acid it contains is the main ingredient that helps heal stretch marks, scars, loose skin and acne.

To use lemon juice, simply rub some of the fresh juice directly on any stretch marks using a circular motion. Allow the juice to soak into the skin for 10 minutes or so before rinsing off with warm water.
An alternative to this is to mix up equal parts of cucumber juice and lemon juice and apply this directly on any stretch marks or sagging skin.

Natural Treatment for Stretch Marks #6... Other Essential Oils And Natural Remedies To Reduce Stretch
Marks And Firm Up The Skin...

Cocoa Butter: Famous for its anti-wrinkle and anti-aging properties. Cocoa butter increases blood circulation, which is essential for the healing of stretch marks and sagging skin.

Potato Juice: Promotes the restoration and growth of skin cells for healing.

Tea Tree Oil: Contains strong anti-viral, anti-inflammatory and antibiotic properties. An effective remedy for all types of skin problems.

Helychrysum Oil: A potent astringent, analgesic and anti-inflammatory. Helychrysum oil helps with removing stretch marks by increasing blood flow and revitalizing damaged skin.

Rosehip Oil: High in essential fatty acids and antioxidants, rosehip oil also contains a form of vitamin A similar to Retin-A, which is used in virtually all anti-aging products.

Lavender Oil: Rejuvenates and tones the skin, hence why it's a common ingredient in many natural skin care products.

Grape Seed Oil: Contains powerful skin regenerative properties. A terrific oil for reducing stretch marks and sagging skin.

Emu Oil: Emu oil also works a treat on stretch marks and flabby skin due to it's high concentrate of linolenic acid and oleic acid.

Vitamin E: Vitamin E is one of the essential elements for the skin's natural regeneration and maintenance system. It's also a strong antioxidant and is added to virtually all skin creams on the market, including most stretch mark and skin firming creams.

How to Get Rid of Stretch Marks Remedy #7... Homemade Stretch Mark And Saggy Skin Serum:

To save money and make your own high potency "anti saggy skin and stretch mark cream" (yes, I made that name up), here's a super recipe and remedy you can use...

Total Prep Time: 20 minutes
Makes roughly 6–8 ounces

INGREDIENTS:

3 ounces of organic virgin coconut oil
¾ ounce of pure unrefined cocoa butter
¾ ounce of pure unrefined shea butter
3 tablespoons of sweet almond oil
6 tablespoons of clean filtered water
2 teaspoons of natural vitamin E oil
20 drops of essential oil of lavender
20 drops of essential oil of cypress
10 drops of essential oil of grapefruit
10 drops of essential oil of helichrysum

DIRECTIONS:

Using a small saucepan, melt the coconut oil, cocoa butter, shea butter and almond oil using low heat.
Once the oils are melted, mix in the water until the oils and water have combined and are smooth.
Remove the saucepan from the heat and continue to mix until it cools to room temperature and develops a creamy texture.
Once at room temperature, stir in the vitamin E, cypress, lavender, grapefruit and helichrysum essential oils.
Store the serum in a dark glass container if possible, or if you use a clear glass container, make sure you keep it in a dark place away from light as this will destroy the healing qualities of the cream. Apply the serum morning and night for best results. (1)

Natural Cure for Stretch Marks #8... Dermelastic Cream: This is the best one of them all to be honest. It's not actually a "home remedy" as such - more of a natural remedy or natural treatment really. Regardless of this, it works so amazingly well that it currently has a rare five star rating on Amazon!

Dermelastic was actually developed by a few post pregnant mothers (two of which were chemists) who decided to come up with their own remedy for stretch marks. It's now proved to be extremely popular. All of the essential ingredients needed to firm up the skin and get rid of stretch marks are in there... Rose Hips Oil, Grapefruit Seed Extract, Orange Oil, Aloe Vera Leaf, Jojoba Oil, Olive Oil, Shea Butter, Cocoa Butter and others.

It's also reasonably priced for what you get. You can check it out here if you're interested... Dermelastic Stretch Mark & Scar Removal Serum.

Additional Tips and Home Remedies for Reducing/Getting Rid of Stretch Marks and Sagging Skin...

-Make sure you exercise regularly to tighten skin and tone muscles.

-Get rid of dead skin cells by exfoliating once a week.

-Get 8-9 hours of uninterrupted "beauty sleep" each night.

-Avoid soaps that contain harsh and damaging chemicals.

-Use natural cosmetic products designed for your skin type.

-Avoid refined sugars, processed foods and junk food.

-Eat lots of fresh fruits and vegetables to help your body cleanse, repair and regenerate itself.

-Take vitamin C, vitamin E and MSM (methylsulfonylmethan) supplements for skin repair and rejuvenation.

-Keep your skin hydrated and smooth by drinking plenty of clean filtered water.

-Use Himalayan pink rock salt (Chrystal salt) in your cooking and on your foods as much as possible for healthy mineral intake. Avoid commercial table salt as it damages the skin and internal organs.

So hopefully these tips and remedies help you out Miranda.

Good luck and all the best to you!
