Lower cholesterol naturally - best home remedies

Here’s a surprising fact about cholesterol your doctor won’t bother to share with you (or believe it or not, may not even be aware of)…

Cholesterol is absolutely essential to your health and well-being and without it you will die!

Yes that’s right.

Every cell in your body needs cholesterol to function, so it is in effect, an essential nutrient.

The Medical establishment has done a really good job of getting people so paranoid about cholesterol over the years that many are now cholesterol deficient and in the process are doing themselves more harm than good. (Seriously?)

Remember this… cholesterol itself is not a problem. Only when there becomes an excess amount of cholesterol in the blood does it become a problem.

High Cholesterol is a Serious Warning Sign...

If you have elevated cholesterol and triglyceride levels, then there’s a reason. It’s your body’s way of saying “there’s a problem so fix it”.

If you just go and take cholesterol lowering drugs then you are only treating the symptom, not the underlying cause. This fixes nothing.

It’s the same with using any natural treatments or home remedies to try and lower your cholesterol...

For instance, if you only eat foods that are known to lower blood cholesterol (such as oats or lecithin) then you are also just treating the symptom, not the underlying cause. Although this is a better alternative treatment than using pharmaceutical drugs, you actually need to treat both if you want to live a long and healthy life. That's what these articles will show you how to do.

But first, there are 3 common myths about cholesterol we need to clear up before giving you our potent tips on how to lower cholesterol naturally in the body…

Myth # 1: The lower your cholesterol levels the healthier you are:

This is probably the biggest fraud being pushed onto millions of unsuspecting people by ill-informed doctors and the highly profitable pharmaceutical industry.

Allowing your overall cholesterol level to drop below 200 (which is now the new supposed “safe” level) is extremely dangerous and deadly!

Think about this… the “safe” cholesterol range was once around 400 (4.0). Then it dropped to 350; then 300; then 250; then 200; now it’s below 200 (2.0).

It keeps getting lower yet the death rate from heart disease keeps getting higher!

Something is definitely wrong here?

Remember… your body needs cholesterol for the proper functioning of your liver and nervous system and is a crucial building block for your sex and adrenal hormones. The problem is the human body can only make 10% of its daily need. The remaining 90% must come from your diet.

According to cholesterol expert and “myth buster” Dr. William Douglass, your cholesterol should stay somewhere within the range of 200-300 and we believe this is good advice. If you have any doubts about this then I recommend you read his short report on cholesterol available from here... douglassreport.com

Myth #2: Cholesterol from animal products such as red meat, eggs and full fat milk (butter, etc) is bad for you:

Cholesterol and red meat

This is just a theory and has never been proven. The problem with it is the numbers don’t add up. For instance, an Eskimos diet consists of 70% animal meat, fat and cholesterol yet they have very low cholesterol levels, low triglyceride levels, and very low rates of heart disease, cancer and stroke.

Then in the May edition of The Denver Post back in 1996, there was an article about a longevity study in which researchers interviewed 415 people over the age of a hundred (the oldest was 111). The idea was to try and find out if there was one “overwhelming factor” all of these people had in common that may have contributed to their longevity.

And there was in fact one overwhelming thing that researchers discovered...

All 415 people ate red meat every day! There wasn’t one vegetarian in the group. Now, if red meat really is so bad for you and eating it clogs up your arteries and causes heart disease then all of these people should have been dead long ago! 1

And What About Eggs and High Cholesterol?

Cholesterol and eggs

Back in 1995 the American Heart Association performed a study on cholesterol and eggs and the results changed conventional thinking about one of nature’s little masterpieces forever...

They took 141 healthy people with a cholesterol level of 227 (the “normal” range back then was 220-270). For 6 months these people had to eat 2 eggs for breakfast every morning and after the 6 month period was up their cholesterol levels were re-tested. What they found was their cholesterol levels did go up. But they only went up by a miniscule amount, so here’s what the American Heart Association came out and said at their annual meeting on November 15th, 1995…

“We always assumed that eggs were bad for you because they contain cholesterol, but it now appears after this simple study that 2 eggs a day won’t hurt”. 2

And in the New England Journal of Medicine there was an article titled “Normal Cholesterol in 88 Year Old Man Eating 25 Eggs a Day”. This old fella had been eating 25 eggs everyday for over 20 years and yet his cholesterol levels were perfectly normal!

The real truth on this one folks is eggs actually lower cholesterol in the blood without any side effects. In fact, the more eggs you eat the healthier your cholesterol levels will be (eggs are high in lecithin, which naturally reduces cholesterol).

So contrary to popular belief, eggs are actually terrific cholesterol reduces!

And Butter and Cholesterol?

Cholesterol butter

In regards to butter, it’s amazing to discover that in the butter producing countries of Sweden and Denmark - who are also the biggest consumers by the way - they actually have more normal cholesterol levels than what we do. The worst culprits for raising cholesterol levels are actually processed foods, fried foods, hydrogenated oils and margarine!

Myth #3: High cholesterol is a hereditary disease:

This one is an absolute load of rubbish. No substantiated amount of proof has ever been presented on a link between high cholesterol and family history. It’s purely a theory but doctors now believe it to be true and will try and tell you so.

Do not fall for it!

Haven’t you noticed that virtually every disease in the world is now being blamed on genetics? The problem with this is you can always find someone in your family who has (or has had) what you have if you look hard enough or go back far enough. Parents, uncles, aunties, cousins, brothers, sisters, grandmothers, grandfathers, great uncles, great aunties… the list goes on.

It proves absolutely nothing!

And when the medical profession can’t find anyone in your family with the same disease as you they have no option but to label you “a special case”.

It’s totally ridiculous.

High cholesterol is purely a diet and lifestyle disease, caused by one or a combination of eating the wrong foods, smoking, drinking too much alcohol, lack of exercise, and most importantly, not getting enough of the essential nutrients! 1
