QUESTION:

I have had sebaceous cysts all my adult life, despite being very careful of hygiene. Help!... I am tired of these bumps on my face and behind my ears. Dermatology has not helped, nor have expensive cosmetics. Any suggestions please?

ANSWER:

Hello Jean, and thanks for your question regarding natural and home remedies for sebaceous cysts.

Firstly, the number one reason for someone continuing to get sebaceous cysts is low immunity and an immune system that's been severely compromised. So the first course of action to take is to stimulate and build up the immune system. To begin with, have a read of our June newsletter article here where we list the top 13 ways to boost your immune system... Take Your Health to a Whole New Level With These Powerful Immune Boosting Tips!

Along with boosting your immunity, here's a few more natural and home remedies for sebaceous cysts that work a treat...

#1. Apple Cider Vinegar (ACV): Apple cider vinegar contains some powerful anti-bacterial, anti-fungal and antiseptic properties. It also helps to balance out the body's crucial acid/alkaline base (pH level) and turbo-boost the immune system. This substance is a strong internal and external cleansing agent that's perfect for getting rid of sebaceous cysts.

There are two ways to use the ACV. Take it internally and use it externally...

To take internally, either take the ACV in capsule form or mix a tablespoon of raw organic apple cider vinegar (such as these ones) in a glass of warm filtered water and drink. Do this twice daily, 20 minutes before food on an empty stomach. ACV is so good for getting rid of cysts, and for overall good health for that matter, that it's a very good idea to continue to make it part of your daily regimen permanently!

Now, for external use, here's what you do...

Apply ACV on the cyst and cover with a bandage or clean cloth for approximately 3-4 days. Remove the bandage after this time and you'll find a hard layer of skin on the cyst. Remove this hard layer of skin to remove the liquid/pus from the cyst. Clean the cyst and apply a new bandage. Leave the bandage on the cyst for another 2-3 days. When you remove the bandage you should notice new skin growing.

#2. Castor Oil: Castor oil works amazingly well on sebaceous cysts, and works very
quickly. Keep in mind that this is only an external remedy though.

So here's what you do...

Just apply some pure organic castor oil (do not use any other type) directly onto your sebaceous cyst and gently rub with your fingers. Do this 3 times daily and watch your cyst quickly disappear within days!

The great thing about castor oil is it's completely safe and non-toxic. Just make sure you wash your hands thoroughly before applying.

#3. Hydrogen Peroxide: Hydrogen peroxide is such a fantastic "cure all" remedy and is even recommended by Dr Mercola.

For curing sebaceous cysts, it works like a charm. And it's also safe and non-toxic as well. Simply soak a cotton ball with some hydrogen peroxide (must only be the 3% solution) and apply directly onto the cyst. Do this 2-3 times daily. The only side effect, if you can call it that, is the skin and any hair can turn lighter from the bleaching. This is perfectly okay and completely harmless.

#4. Witch Hazel: Witch hazel has astringent properties that cleanse the skin and speed up the healing process. The tannins in witch hazel extract remove excess oil from the skin and prevent blockage of the sebaceous glands, which result in the formation of cysts. Apply witch hazel directly onto the cyst and allow to soak for at least a couple of hours. Repeat twice daily.

#5. Colloidal Silver: Colloidal silver is a very powerful natural antibiotic. It reduces inflammation, swelling, and most importantly, stimulates lymphatic flow in the body to stop infection. Colloidal silver is also a strong immunity booster and is extremely effective for healing sebaceous cysts. And the great thing about colloidal silver is it can be used both internally and externally.

For internal use, mix 1/2 tablespoon of high strength colloidal silver in a glass of filtered water and drink on an empty stomach. Do this twice daily (for a total of one tablespoon per day).

For external use, soak a cotton ball with some colloidal silver and apply directly to the sebaceous cyst 2-3 times daily.

So hopefully these tips and remedies help you out Jean. There are certainly more natural and home remedies for sebaceous cysts out there, but the ones listed here give the best results and are the easiest to implement.

Good luck to you and all the best!
